Editorial Policy

This policy explains how Fight Bouts aims to collect, publish, attribute, update, and correct combat-sports information.

Effective date: July 29, 2026

Accuracy before speed

Fight details should be supported by reliable sources, and uncertain information should not be presented as confirmed.

Clear sourcing

Readers should be able to distinguish Fight Bouts material from reporting and data supplied by third parties.

Honest automation

Automation may collect and organize facts, but it must not fabricate reporting, quotations, expertise, or certainty.

Visible corrections

Material factual errors should be corrected promptly and transparently when they are identified.

Scope and purpose

Fight Bouts is an independent combat-sports information site. Its purpose is to make schedules, event details, results, and recent developments easier to discover and understand.

The site is not an official representative of any promotion, broadcaster, publisher, sanctioning body, or athlete unless a relationship is explicitly disclosed.

Sources

Fight Bouts may use official promotion and event pages, broadcaster information, established news publishers, RSS feeds, and other relevant sources. Whenever practical, pages should identify and link to the source supporting a material fact.

A third-party report should not be presented as original Fight Bouts reporting. Quotations should be attributed to the person who made them and to the publication or source through which they were obtained.

Anonymous rumors, social posts without verification, and unsupported claims should not be presented as confirmed news.

News briefs and original work

A source-attributed news brief may summarize the central facts of a development and direct readers to the original source. It should not reproduce substantial portions of another publisher's work or add generic text merely to appear longer.

Material labeled as original analysis should contain meaningful Fight Bouts research or reasoning and identify the responsible author or reviewer. Facts and opinion should be distinguishable.

Use of automation

Fight Bouts uses software to collect, parse, store, and organize selected fight and news information. Automation can improve timeliness, but it can also introduce errors.

Automated systems may assist with factual summaries and page organization. They must not invent eyewitness reporting, interviews, quotations, credentials, predictions, or expert consensus. Low-confidence data should be withheld or clearly labeled until it can be verified.

Authorship and attribution

A person should be listed as a Fight Bouts author only when that person wrote or meaningfully reviewed the material for Fight Bouts. Writers employed by a source publisher should not be described as Fight Bouts contributors.

Imported news briefs use the organizational label “Brief assembled by Fight Bouts.” This identifies the publisher responsible for assembling the page, not the author of the original report. The source publisher and any supplied source author are credited separately.

Review of automated briefs

News briefs are assembled automatically from selected RSS feeds. The current workflow does not record individual human review before publication. An organizational byline does not imply that an editor has independently verified the story.

Before a page can be labeled as reviewed, the responsible reviewer must check the original source, headline, summary, attribution, publication time, and any material event details. Review should remove unsupported claims and distinguish source reporting from Fight Bouts additions. A review label requires a retained record identifying the reviewer, time, and scope of the check; automated imports alone do not qualify. Review labels are not currently used.

Source or accuracy concerns can be sent through the contact page. A correction request does not itself establish that a brief has been reviewed or corrected. Confirmed corrections should follow the corrections policy.

Updates and corrections

Fight cards, start times, venues, broadcast plans, and rankings can change. Fight Bouts may update pages as more reliable information becomes available.

Material factual errors should be corrected. Significant corrections should be explained on the affected page when appropriate. Minor spelling, formatting, or clarity edits may be made without a correction note.

Readers can submit a correction through the contact page.

Advertising and commercial independence

Fight Bouts may display advertising, including ads supplied by Google AdSense. Advertisers do not receive the right to dictate editorial conclusions or factual coverage.

Sponsored material, paid placements, and affiliate relationships should be clearly disclosed where applicable. An advertisement's presence does not constitute a Fight Bouts endorsement.

Conflicts and fairness

Material financial or personal conflicts related to original coverage should be disclosed. Criticism, predictions, and analysis should not be presented as established fact.

People and organizations who believe a material fact is wrong may provide supporting information for review. A request does not guarantee removal when the published information is accurate, newsworthy, and appropriately sourced.
